C-LAB:About

The Computation lab is an educational resource created by Department of Design and Computation Arts and targeted towards Fine Arts community. We organize activities and provide resources to stimulate learning of computation tools available for artists.

Workshops:

The c-lab gives several workshops each semester. Topics of the workshops are related to programming issues in the context of new media art. Participation is open to anyone but priority is given to Concordia Fine Arts students (in case there is not enough space). The workshop schedule is published every semester on the website : http://clab.concordia.ca.

Project assistance:

The Lab Coordinator can be consulted during office hours about the realization of programming-intensive projects & in class programming assignments.

Study groups:

Study groups bring together individuals interested in learning particular subject. Computation lab provides learning materials and organizes study group sessions. The purpose of the study groups is to mediate information and expertise between people interested in the programming aspects of computation arts and establish supportive community of such people.

Resources:

Workstations with applications necessary to carry out projects in different programming languages and environments and multimedia equipment. Workspace and books for references and individual study.
